Angels Wings is a community based non-profit organization serving the Metro-Detroit area. Our organization works to serve the area by providing unique educational services to youth, adults, and seniors in the area of Health and Wellness, Financial Management, and Career Development.
Alma Boykin is currently the treasurer of Angel Wings residing in McDonough, GA. Alma Tee graduated from Wayne State University with a BS in Nursing 1982. She retired from the County of Wayne as a Public Health Nurse Supervisor after 26 years with the County. In addition she retired as a LTC from the United States Army Reserve Nurse Corp after 21 years of service. During that time her areas of expertise was in critical care in the military and maternal child with the County of Wayne.
Alana Thomas is the President and founder of Angels Wings and has always had a desire to help others. Alana graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and Communication. While earning her degree, she worked as a substitute teacher in the Dearborn Public School System for Kindergarten through 12th grades. After graduating Alana began her career in Public Health, where she has been serving the community for over 18 years.
Lyn Turner Secretary II
Lyn Turner is a firm believer in higher education for everyone. She earned her B.A. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Siena Heights University. Ms. Turner has worked as an Office Manager for over fifteen years with two minority owned companies, applying her accounting skillset and administrative abilities. Ms. Turner serves as secretary for Angels Wings and is dedicated in the work she provides.Ms. Turner’s passion not only includes her finance background, but also working with children and other non-profit organizations.
Sheila Thacker is a Care Manager RN at Beaumont Grosse Pointe. She has BSN in Nursing from the University of Detroit Mercy (UDM). She has worked as a ICU and stepdown Nurse. Sheila has been a clinical instructor for UDM. She has been a volunteer for Angel's Wings since 2016
Darlene McDougle has a Bachelors in Healthcare Services and a Masters of Business with a focus in Healthcare Management. Ms. McDougle has worked in Community Health for over 20 years serving the community for their sexual health. Ms. McDougle has a passion for youth and educating them on sexual health. Ms. McDougle is a director for Angels and enjoys donating her time.
Frank is currently the Lead Pastor of Breath of Life Christian Church in Eastpointe, MI.Frank is a Certified Human Behavior Counselor, having been trained by Dr. Robert Rohm, Personality Institute, Atlanta, GA...He truly love God and God's people. It is his hearts desire to unite and influence all people through God's love and by God's word! Frank is currently a Graduate student at Moody Theological Seminary in Plymouth, Michigan pursuing a Master of Divinity degree.
Sharron Sherman is a mother, a wife and an educator. Mrs. Sherman graduated from Avondale High School and received a Bachelor of Business Management and Entrepreneurship at the University of Phoenix. Mrs. Sherman works as a substitute teacher in the Metropolitan Detroit area for grades K through 12.
Gerard Castaneda is serving as the technical consultant for Angels Wings and is thrilled to provide a helping hand to such a worthy cause. Gerard graduated from the University of Michigan’s School of Nursing in Ann Arbor and received a Master’s degree in nursing informatics from Ferris State University. He has many years of experience in community-based nursing and has a strong desire to help people and work towards decreasing issues associated with health inequities.
Reggie Williams is a comedian writer, director and youth mentor. Reggie has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and is developing a youth mentoring program in the city of Detroit that provides mentoring for young people who are looking to pursue a career in Performing Arts, Counseling, Engineering, Finance, and Information Technology.
Sheila J. Thacker
Tiesha Adams has been involved with Angels Wings of Michigan since 2015 when she began volunteering. Tiesha involvement grew in 2016 when she accepted the position of Personal Assistant to the President of Angels Wings of Michigan. Her desire is to serve in the community and in ministry. Besides serving, Tiesha is pursuing a degree in nursing and hopes to work in an underserved population area. Also she enjoys spending time with her son, reading and shopping.
John Judge Jr.
Stephanie has always had a strong desire to help people and an interest in infectious disease. Attempting to marry her two passions, Stephanie then went on to the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor and received a Master in Public Health concentrating in Epidemiology and Health Behavior and Health Education.
Eugene B Boykin Sr. began his career in music and one of the original members of the Parliaments in 1954. He graduated from Essex County Community College majoring in criminal Justice in 1959. . Gene served in the US Air Force from 1960-1972 that included two tours In Viet-Nam.
Damon Walker retired from Chrysler at the age of 38 to start his own business. Becoming a business owner not just for his family, but to help empower others to become entrepreneurs. He has a degree in computer science and various certificates in other areas of business. His ultimate goal is to be a blessing in any way possible to others.
